This disposable vape pen contains 0.3mg of extra-purified, triple-distilled Granola Funk cannabis oil. This hybrid strain is a cross between Girl Scout Cookies and Wookie 15.

This pen contains sauce, which refers to the texture, color, and consistency of the cannabis oil.  Grassroots Cannabis makes High Terpene Extract (HTE) sauce to capture the natural flavor profile and effects of the plant.

Appearance 5/5
This is by far the most aesthetically pleasing disposable vaporizer I’ve ever seen. The black battery is covered in a shimmery dark gray leaf pattern. The ½” tall chamber is filled with a thick, golden-rod colored liquid. The mouthpiece is a glass tube with walls almost ⅛” wide. The glass connecting the mouthpiece to the chamber, and the chamber to the battery, is baby blue, which makes the piece look much more stylish than if it was black or clear.

Aroma 5/5
This disposable vape from Grassroots had hardly any aroma at all. I noticed a faint earthy, grassy aroma, but nothing could be smelled from the other room. I’m a firm believer that the vaporizer with the “best aroma” is the one with the least aroma.

When I unscrewed the top of the vape pen, the sauce had an aroma reminiscent of the same grassy unpleasantness found in the taste. This could not be smelled at all, however, when the pen was put together.

Taste 1/5
Granola Funk is a fitting name for this strain when granola is interpreted as an adjective, not a noun. This does not taste like a sweet, healthy, crunchy cereal, but it definitely tastes as it came from a health food store.

I don’t give this product one star in the taste category lightly. The flavor is raw and grassy, like wheatgrass, and slightly bitter, like the stem of cilantro. I hoped the flavor would grow on me as I used the pen. It didn’t, but it was less unpleasant when I knew what to expect. Still, every hit came with an aftertaste of raw vegetation.

Effect 5/5
Based on the effects alone, this is a good product. I enjoyed the effects of the Granola Funk strain enough to make up for how disappointed I was by the flavor. The sauce contains 78.15% THC with a smidge (0.38%) of CBD. While Granola Funk is a hybrid, its main effect is physical relaxation. My body felt soft, and my mind was focused and dazed. There was also a subtle mental relaxation that wasn’t stimulating or tiring.

Product price: $44.36

I recommend this product for people who are concerned about the health effects of vaping. Not only did I personally find this disposable vape to be easy on my throat, but I noticed that Grassroots Cannabis had a paragraph on their Vapes page that addressed the health concern about vaping. This links to even more information about specific concerns and the purity of Grassroots vaping products. I have not seen any information on any other cannabis vaping company’s website that addresses the health concerns so directly.

Even though this product didn’t taste great, the most frustrating part is that the battery ran out while there was still a solid ¼” of cannabis oil left in the chamber. I noticed that the light at the bottom of the pen was glowing faintly, but I didn’t think much of it. Then the pen started blinking when I tried to take a hit. I have tried disposable vapes from Rythm and pts, and neither of them died before the oil was gone.

Sunnyside has been working to accommodate the growing number of users by expanding their hours for recreational users and allowing people to place orders throughout the day, not just in the morning. I placed an order mid-morning, and my trip was quick and smooth.

I got to the bright yellow-orange brick building a half-hour after I received the text that my order was ready to be picked up. The streets of Lakeview are empty besides the two brightly painted Sunnyside locations across the street from each other.

There was one guard standing outside, checking confirmation numbers before admitting customers, and two guards in the waiting room – one scanning IDs and the other counting the number of people in the dispensary, then allowing one customer to enter for everyone that left.

The waiting room is painted the same bright yellow-orange, and the windows are plastered over with posters. The company uses cute cartoon graphics to provide customers with educational information about cannabis while they are waiting. The posters say things like “What’s the difference between THC and CBD? Ask us!” and “Indica vs. Sativa. What’s the difference?” Every time I come to Sunnyside, it seems they have added more posters to inform customers about cannabis. There is a TV at the front of the room that cycles through the same content as the posters, with a few additions, like a screen about Cresco Live Resin.

Inside the dispensary, everything is painted the same bright yellow, but the posters are more focused on warnings about allergy cross-contamination, a no-return policy, and advertisements for some of the products that partner with Cresco Labs.
