The main flavor I noticed is strong, bitter dark chocolate. The cannabinoid flavor in the candy is pronounced, but woven in with the fudge notes. There’s also a distinctly metallic, weedy aftertaste that lingers after eating. 

It’s really a treat that calls for a glass of milk. Be judicious with how much of the edible you take, because of this little candy’s packing 100mg of THC, which is no joke. The texture is that of a nice, smooth fudge. I stored it in a cool place, and when I took it out to eat, it wasn’t overly chewy, like some fudge can be. It’s a very pleasant texture, indeed.

The effect settles in about thirty minutes after taking the edible. Since this is a Sativa edible, there is a strong heightening of the senses that comes on at this point. It stays at the level of a “subtle buzz” for a while and then becomes a wider, more encompassing feeling, that is surprisingly heady for an edible. You start to feel a certain awareness of your environment, that brings your thoughts into focus.

This edible would be good for creativity, especially if it requires you to work with your hands. It gives you this fine sensitivity to what your hands are doing. I gave myself an amazing beard trim because I felt like I could concentrate on every little hair as I worked.

At the peak of the experience, you can even become hyper-aware and a little paranoid. It may be something that high-strung people might want to look out for, but it’s nothing that a little relaxation and deep breathing can’t erase. I recommend doing this in a comfortable, quiet, private place, because at times, doing anything at all could feel overstimulating.

But this feeling of overstimulation resolves into a nice, lasting afterglow. The hyper-awareness continues to lessen until it’s not at all troubling. The insights and feelings that you experience during the high are largely available to you at this point still, but there are clarity and organization that sobriety brings to it all.

I would strongly recommend this edible to anybody who’s a fan of the Sativa experience. I like to feel active and creative when I’m high, so this is a great choice for me. I would caution anyone with a low tolerance to take this candy in small bits because it’s quite potent. For someone like me, who has a pretty high tolerance for edibles, 50mg will probably get you where you need to be. The Freedom Fudgies definitely get my stamp of approval, that’s for sure.
