Encore Company–a division of Verano Brands–makes mints in several different flavors: Wildberry, Tangerine, Wintermint, and Green Tea. They come in a tin similar in shape and size to a tin of Altoids. A tin comes with twenty 5mg mints. Other divisions of Verano Brands include Goldleaf, a luxury cannabis brand, and Avexia, a company that makes THC (and CBD) pills at various ratios.
Appearance 5/5
The green tea mints come in a dim lime green tin, with black and white text. The logo and lowercase serif font give the box a vintage appearance, like something sold at an apothecary.
The triangular mints are about a half an inch tall. The mints are engraved with the word “MENTA” and “1 THC”, which refers to the one-part THC to zero-part CBD ratio found within each mint. They’re very pale green in color, with bright blue, gray, and green specks.
Aroma 3/5
These edibles have a lovely, soft minty scent. It is a creamy wintermint aroma, with hints of green tea. The scent is slightly more mint than green tea, but both are prominent. The green tea aroma is more like a green tea frappuccino, than a floral jasmine green tea. The mints smell sweeter than they taste, to be honest. They do not smell like cannabis at all.
Taste 4/5
I expected these green tea flavored candies to be ‘mints’ in the way that Icebreaker’s Sours are ‘mints’– a colloquial term for a small candy meant to be sucked on. These are not green tea flavored ‘mints’; they’re mints with a hint of green tea flavor.
They remind me of the white mints some restaurants give at the end of the meal, only more dense. The flavor is close to a spearmint; it’s powerful, yet enjoyable. I have to deduct points, though, because I wanted green tea flavored mints, and I can hardly taste the green tea elements of this product.
Effect 5/5
I consumed the mints by letting the candies dissolve, rather than chewing them. This way, I felt the effects more strongly and immediately, than with other 5mg edibles. I think the body absorbs the THC from a product like this through the mouth, rather than an edible like chocolate or cookies, that mostly gets absorbed in the stomach. I think that is the benefit of mints over other types of edibles.
Not only did I feel the effects much sooner, but I felt higher, in a much more holistic way.
Product price: $24.57
These green tea mints are a solid choice for edibles, and I would recommend them to anyone looking for something that is quick and easy to consume, or to those who don’t want to eat gummies or chocolate. The dose, 5mg per mint, is good for novices and regular cannabis consumers, alike. They are good edibles for everyday occasions.
I enjoyed trying the Encore Company’s Green Tea mints. Once I got over my disappointment that they taste like mint, not green tea, I realized they are a really good product, since they are absorbed quickly and taste good.

I have been to Sunnyside Lakeview several times now–more than any other Chicago dispensary.
It’s not the cheapest (or the closest) to my home, but I go there because they get new inventory more consistently than any of the other dispensaries on the North Side. Not only do they offer the same candies, vapes, and branded pre-rolls as the other dispensaries, but they mostly stock their own flower from Cresco Labs, the parent company of the Sunnyside dispensary chain.
I came into my latest experience intending to purchase three different pre-rolls, but when I entered the vacant pizza restaurant Sunnyside is occupying as it’s waiting room, they told me that they still had purchasing limits: one eighth, one pre-roll, two edibles. There were no limits on carts and concentrates, though.
I had to restructure my plan, so I ended up choosing one pre-roll, a vape pen, and some edibles. Luckily, everything was still in stock when I got to the register.
I went on a Saturday morning, and they had three different eighths of flower on the menu, two of which were different size nugs of the same strain, along with four different types of pre-rolls. There were four different disposable vapes and three times as many carts. Their selection of edibles was relatively small, but it offered most items in different flavors and managed to keep some chocolate on the menu.
A day and a half later, the menu is more limited, but the best thing about Sunnyside dispensary is that it will have a new selection of products to choose from in just a few days.
