The product I purchased was Sweet ReLeaf’s Strawberry 1:1 Microdose Hard Sweets. These candies contain 5mg THC and 5mg CBD. The strain is unspecified. These candies come in a package of 20, for a total of 100mg THC and 100mg CBD per pack.

I think the packaging and overall look of these candies is great. Sweet ReLeaf does a really good job of designing their packaging to look appealing. The bright red pouch and lovely-looking strawberry on the front definitely caught my eye while browsing online. The content breakdown is also clearly labeled right there on the front of the pouch.

After tearing off the seal and opening the safety pouch top, I found the candies individually wrapped inside. This is a nice touch and helps to avoid moisture clumping these together. The candies themselves are small, which makes sense, since they are intended as microdoses. Their square shape is nothing too fancy, but does stand out, and the pieces are nice and uniform.

I took a whiff upon opening the pouch, and didn’t smell much beyond a faint strawberry sweetness. That makes sense, given that these candies are individually wrapped. After opening them, I could smell the strawberry flavor more intensely, and the cannabis scent came through, as well.

Taste 4/5
I really liked the taste of these hard sweets. If you’re anything like me, the flavor will instantly take you back to those strawberry candies your grandma used to give you. You know, the ones with the wrapper that looks like a strawberry, and that somehow only grandmothers knew where to get them?

For those unfamiliar, these taste like fairly artificial strawberry candy. They’re pretty sweet, but not overwhelmingly so. They last for a while if you suck on them, but don’t overstay their welcome. The weed flavor is also present, and adds a nice bit of depth. Those who aren’t fond of cannabis flavor won’t mind it too much.

I tried these sweets a number of times in a variety of doses, and I’d say that each time, my expectations were met. On a single 5mg dose, I could feel the effects begin to kick in rather quickly – maybe 40 minutes after consuming. What I felt was a pleasant sense of calm and a willingness to take things slow – what I consider “vacation mode.” I didn’t particularly feel high, but your mileage may vary.

Another time, when I took three pieces for a 15mg dose, I definitely felt a more pronounced high. The same calming effect occurred, which was nice, and lasted throughout the high. I would describe the high as a pretty active, creative, and silly one. It wasn’t head-spinning, just really pleasant.

I also noticed that the high seems to last longer with these, possibly due to their CBD content helping things along in your system.

I think Sweet ReLeaf Strawberry 1:1 Hard Sweets live up to the package’s description of a microdose edible. These 5mg 1:1 candies do work well as a microdose option for regular users wanting to achieve a nice “glow” from time to time without getting too high. Of course, if you want to go higher, you can always take more, and with 5mg increments, it’s easy to get a more precise dose.

These also make a good option for first-time users, as the 5mg 1:1 dose should be pronounced, but not overwhelming. I’d say these are a good introduction to edibles. One thing worth noting is these do contain artificial flavorings and the controversial food coloring Red 40, so do keep that in mind if you are looking to avoid those.

Sweet ReLeaf Strawberry 1:1 Hard Sweets taste good and have a really nice, enjoyable effect. Take 1 for an easygoing, relaxed experience, or stack them to get a higher, more lasting high. These make it nice and easy to control how high you want to get!

These hard sweets were purchased at Nature’s Care, a combination medical and recreational dispensary located in Rolling Meadows. Getting to Nature’s Care is easy by way of I-90 and Route 53. It’s tucked into an industrial park directly across from a megachurch, but the large sign is hard to miss.

Save yourself time by ordering in advance on the Jane sales platform Nature’s Care uses. There, you can search by category, pick your products, and make your order. Just choose the time you’d like to come in and pick up your products, and you’ll receive confirmation texts when your order is received, prepared, and ready for pick up. Medical patients also have access to curbside pickup, which was made available during the COVID-19 pandemic to better serve at-risk customers.

At Nature’s Care, there are two lines: one for recreational users and one for medical patients. The medical line is typically shorter and located right in front of the store, while the recreational line has often wrapped around the entire store. As Nature’s Care was designated an essential business in Illinois, they have seen a lot of customers, particularly during these times. Customers should be prepared for a wait.

Once inside, the staff will ask you to wash your hands or apply hand sanitizer before entering the sales floor. Once that’s done, you can enter the medical or recreational sales floor line. These typically go by much faster, as the staff limits how many people can be inside at a time.
