Dogwalker’s pre-rolls are luxury joints from Green Thumb Industries (GTI). They come both in tins of five 0.35g pre-rolls, or “Big Dogs,” which contain 0.75g of premium flower. I tried the White 99 Big Dog. This strain crosses Cinderella 99 (Sativa) and The White (Indica) to create a perfectly balanced hybrid.
Appearance 5/5
This is an aesthetically striking product. It is shorter than a standard pre-roll, and the paper wraps around the joint in an elegant diagonal line, as it becomes more narrow near the filter.
The white filter has the Dogwalker’s logo vertically centered and printed in green, which is a nice touch to the branding of the product. Not only is the pre-roll perfectly rolled, but it comes in a ceramic case coated in an almost-matte forest green. The product information is etched in gold.
Aroma 4/5
For a potent strain, White 99 has a faint smell that manages to be quite rich. The aroma is earthy and grassy. There are hints of citrus, such as oranges and lemons. The flower also smells quite buttery. The smell is entirely pleasant, but I prefer bud with more of an aroma. However, I’ve found that most pre-rolls don’t have a heavy scent the way bud typically does.
Taste 3/5
The flavor of the White 99 Big Dog was pleasant, but mild.
This was one of the sweetest strains I’ve had from the Illinois dispensaries. The flavor reminds me of a perfectly ripe orange. The flavor is slightly earthy, and there are some oakey notes in the smoke, as well. I wonder if the flavor of the strain is dampened, possibly because of the bleached papers that Dogwalker’s use for their joints. I’ve found that hemp papers help bring out the flavors in cannabis. Whereas these sort of sully the flavor experience.
Effect 5/5
Other than the very cool ceramic case the pre-roll was packaged in, the effects of the White 99 Big Dog were the best part.
I felt energized, but not the exhilarated, verging-on-manic energized that I get from some uplifting strains. I felt very calm and serene. Although I could feel the effects while I smoked, it took a few minutes for the high to fully hit me. This product really provided me with the perfect high, and I will seek out the White 99 strain in the future.
Product price: $22.40
I recommend this product to anyone who wants to be productive. This is an overall good strain for people with anxiety (or paranoia) due to its perfectly balanced hybrid effects.
I think that Dogwalker’s Big Dogs are a great size of pre-roll for people “on-the-go,” or for people who want to smoke a whole pre-roll by themselves.
The Dogwalker White 99 Big Dog is an overall impressive product, although, it is a bit expensive for a 0.75g joint. I enjoyed the smaller size when smoking, and thought it was much more smokable than a full gram joint. From the ceramic case to the logo on the filter, this product looks very cool. Most importantly, the cannabis tastes smooth, and provides an excellent high. Which, at the end of the day, is what matters most.

Although Sunnyside is doing a better job at stocking flower, along with a variety of carts and edibles, a trip to this dispensary is still an adventure, that customers should expect to take at least two hours to complete. I went on a Thursday to pick up two pre-rolls.
I arrived less than an hour before opening, and sat in the second row of chairs in the dim, shut-down pizza restaurant across the street. There were three employees manning the waiting area, rather than the one (or two) I had seen before.
They didn’t provide the forms they have been using, or announce any purchasing restrictions. Pretty much everyone just waited in silence, until they started bringing in groups of 12.
Both employees and customers, alike, seem to be growing tired of the long wait times and product shortages. I saw all four registers staffed with budtenders for the first time, rather than just two or three that I had noticed during past visits.
When I got to the register, they were out of one of the pre-rolls I planned on purchasing. Phoenix, the woman who assisted me, snapped at me, when I said I didn’t need a bag for the lone pre-roll I purchased.
She said, “The rules have changed, so you need to just take the bag.” Last time I was there, the much friendlier budtender suggested that I don’t take a bag, if I don’t want one, since I have a purse with a zipper. But I guess the rules have changed. Nothing to get worked up about, I guess.
This was not my best experience at Sunnyside Lakeview, but I understand they are going through a lot of transitions over the next few months. While most dispensaries are just settling into their rhythm of rec sales, Sunnyside is staffing up for the demand, and preparing to move down the street to Wrigleyville’s Barleycorn Building, where they will open one of the largest dispensaries in the world in the upcoming months.
