For the filling, you will need to peel and slice the apples, and place them in a bowl, along with some brown sugar and lemon juice. After mixing all of those elements together, you can then mix the leftover flour, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg together in a completely different bowl.
Take those “dry ingredients” and mix them into the apple mixture as best you can, and let them marinate with these new flavors for at least 10 minutes.
