During this visit to Nature’s Care, I purchased 1:1 capsules produced by Shelby County Community Services. According to their site, SCCS has been around for over 40 years, and strives to promote the mental health and rehabilitation of residents in need.
These capsules have a 1:1 CBD to THC ratio. The label breaks things down more specifically, indicating that each of the 10 capsules contains 14.05mg of CBD and 9.95mg of THC.
Appearance 5/5
While there isn’t too much to say about the appearance, as these are simple capsules, and not a culinary edible, I can say that I was impressed. The capsules come sealed inside a small zipped plastic pouch, which comes inside a prescription canister.
The canister is similar to what prescription medicine is packed inside of at a typical drugstore, but it is made of a really cool looking transparent purple plastic. I know it’s a small thing, and probably served only to designate that this isn’t a pharmaceutical, but it caught my eye nonetheless. There is plenty of information printed on the large label, as well, which I found helpful.
The capsules also looked great — they’re evenly sized, and have a sort of transparent red color. It all combined for a look that says “this is alternative medicine.”
Aroma 5/5
Since all the cannabis concentrate is packed into sealed capsules, this product has no discernible scent.
Taste 5/5
These capsules don’t have any flavor that I could taste. They are a bit on the large side, so for people who don’t like taking pills, that might be a turn-off. I take multiple forms of medicine each day, so this didn’t bother me at all. The pill went down easy.
Effect 4/5
I took a single capsule for my first time to see how it made me feel.
To be honest, I didn’t feel a very strong high. I did feel a sense of calm and ease, which is consistent with most CBD products, but the high didn’t really hit me.
The second time, I took a capsule along with another edible higher in THC.
I can occasionally get too in-my-head on sativa strains, and can even get a bit of anxiety on those, so I wanted to see if the CBD would mellow things out. It definitely did! I got a strong high on this combination dose, but felt calm and mellow the entire time.
For my third experience, I decided to take a capsule by itself again.
I don’t know why, but this time, I got a stronger high. I also noticed more body awareness this time, which was great in soothing the aches I had from my day at work. Maybe this points to inconsistencies between capsules, but my third time felt quite different from my first. Given that I had two positive experiences with the capsules, I’d still rate them highly overall.
Product price: $20
These capsules are an excellent choice for medical patients, especially those who are looking for pain relief, and a nice, soothing high at the end of the day. They won’t get you super stoned on their own, but can be combined (or stacked) for interesting effects. Their lack of taste and scent makes them a good option for those with dietary restrictions, or an aversion to marijuana smells/taste.
I purchased these capsules because I hadn’t really experimented with 1:1 products before, and wanted to give them a try. I can say that they lived up to my expectations, as they produced a mellow high that was noticeable, but not overly strong on its own. Combined with the other edible, it really increased the high, while smoothing out any anxieties or worries.
I think it totally makes sense that these are produced by Shelby County Community Services, as I could see them being beneficial to those who suffer from anxiety, or possibly even depression. This is a great medical product that I will keep in mind, in case I feel like I need something similar in the future.

I purchased these capsules at Nature’s Care using their online ordering system.
Nature’s care recently switched over to Jane, an online sales platform, and I was happy to see that my account, along with rewards points (and order history) remained intact. They also now accept payment via card, which is much more convenient for me, as someone who never carries cash.
The sales staff at Nature’s Care is always really friendly and helpful, and during this trip, they were even more so. I had questions about the 1:1 product I was purchasing, as I haven’t tried one before, and two of the sales staff fielded my questions. I left feeling like I had a much better idea of what I was going to consume, and how it would affect me.
And for the record, their advice and answers were spot-on.
Nature’s Care also recently became a recreational dispensary, so I know they are going to be a lot busier now.
I don’t doubt that their level of service will stay just the same, as they seem so committed to offering a great experience for customers. They have already built in systems to offer separate pre-order and purchase lines for medical and recreational users, and have committed themselves to making sure they have medical products in stock for users who need it, and they always make sure to serve medical patients in a timely manner.
I’m happy to see that the folks at Nature’s Care aren’t putting profits before patients!
