Cronuts #4

On this trip, I picked up a container of capsules containing the strain Cronuts #4. The product is produced by Progressive Treatment Solutions (PTS). Cronuts #4 is a Sativa-dominant strain that’s reportedly a variation of Girl Scout Cookies. The strain is praised for its medical potency, in particular in treating the symptoms of Crohn’s disease and other gastrointestinal problems. There are 10 capsules in the container I purchased, each containing 10mg THC.

These capsules come sealed inside of a plastic container, with a childproof push-down-and-turn lid. The package labeling is pretty sparse, but that makes sense given this is a medical product. The back of the label discloses the ingredients: virgin cold-pressed coconut oil, turmeric powder from India, ginger powder, and the Cronuts #4 cannabis extract. 

The capsules themselves are see-through, which I liked. They’re not completely filled, so you can see the ingredients. There’s a large amount of yellow, which I’m assuming is the turmeric powder. It appears to be mixed in with the coconut oil, as it’s solid, and doesn’t move when you shake it. Along with the yellow, but not mixed in with it, is a patch of a darker, orange-brown. That, I believe, is the cannabis extract. Overall, I thought the appearance was good, and I liked the chance to see what was inside.

Opening the lid and taking a big sniff inside the container, I could smell a pretty strong cannabis scent. Though it was pungent, it had a sort of bright floral note to it, that I found really pleasing. I’d almost say it had a quality like that of a citrus rind. There’s also a faint smell of coconut oil, which is the primary ingredient in the capsules.

The taste wasn’t really much of a factor for me, as these just go straight down the hatch. However, I did notice a brief lingering cannabis scent on my breath after consuming it. So, if that’s something you don’t like, perhaps stay away.

I was perhaps a little unprepared for how strong of a high these PTS capsules brought on. I don’t know if I’m particularly sensitive to Sativa-dominant strains or what, but a 10mg dose had my mind racing. I was unable to focus on an online game I was playing with my family, and I admit it was a mistake to take this capsule at the time I did, because after about an hour and a half, it peaked for me, which was right when we started playing.

Outside of the game though, I did have a pleasant experience. The initial sense of euphoria was a nice way to distance me from all the negativity in the news amid the coronavirus outbreak. In fact, lately, I’ve been using these capsules as a temporary respite from the fear — allowing myself to meditate and laugh.

Physically, I didn’t notice any strong body effects, but I was sufficiently distracted from the strain in my wrist that I’ve been feeling as of late. Overall, I’d say this is a strong, yet pleasant high — just be mindful of what your plans are during the 3-4 hours in which the Cronuts will release their effects.

I’d definitely recommend PTS Cronuts #4 capsules. Priced right in line with other 100mg edible packs, these are a great option for those looking for a medically specialized strain in capsule form. With so many specialized strains out there to tackle different medical conditions, it’s nice to find one in edible form. Most edibles don’t give a ton of information about the strain(s) used, so this clearly defined product was much appreciated. I don’t have Crohn’s myself, but I read testimonials from others online, who claim this has greatly reduced their stomach pain.

Cronuts #4 capsules by PTS is a great buy. They lead to a strong, active high that lasts longer than usual. If you’re into Sativa-dominant strains, this will not disappoint. I liked the transparency of this product (both literally of the capsule and in the info provided on the label), and I will likely seek out more specialized strains in the future, as well as other PTS products.

I purchased PTS Cronuts #4 capsules at Nature’s Care in Rolling Meadows. Nature’s Care is a combined medical and recreational cannabis dispensary in a northwestern suburb of Chicago. It’s very conveniently located off Illinois Route 53, which is accessible off I-90, near Woodfield Mall. Nature’s Care is a bit off the beaten path after you get off on Euclid Ave., or Northwest Highway, and it kind of sneaks up on you. So, I’d recommend having GPS running for your first time visiting. 

Once there, you’ll find a large, brightly lit sales floor staffed by employees who are always willing to help, and who can gladly answer just about any question you may have. Be sure to let them know at the front desk if you want to speak with someone first, or if you have specific questions, as they can likely have someone discuss cannabis and other products with you in a one-on-one situation.  

Although Nature’s Care has seen a major increase in business and traffic since going recreational, they’ve really committed to serving medical patients by giving them access to walk right into the facility, without having to wait outside the building in the line. 

Inside, they provide two separate recreational and medical lines, making the checkout process much smoother. There is always at least one security guard staffed inside the sales floor, adding to the safe feel inside. You can pay for your order at Nature’s Care via cash or credit, and all purchases come in a discrete bag.
