Mindy’s Cool Keylime Kiwi Gummies come in a convenient tin that opens and closes with a twist. Each gummy is shaped like a perfect gumdrop. Their color reminds me of that cloudy yellow hue you often see in freshly squeezed lime juice, and they are dusted with a sugary coating. The packaging, along with the uniformity of the gummies, communicates the fact that this is a quality product.

Aroma 4/5
When I opened the tin, I was a little shocked by the scent of the gummies. They have the smell of sweet citrus, especially lime, but this is nearly overpowered by a chemical smell, almost like gasoline. I’ve tried Mindy’s products before, but none have had this strong of a scent. I wouldn’t say it is unpleasant, but it’s definitely unique. It made me a little nervous that the chemical smell would give the gummies a strange flavor.

Taste 5/5
In spite of their funky smell, these gummies tasted exactly how I was hoping they would. I could taste each flavor— the key lime tang was bright and refreshing, and paired well with the mellow flavor of the kiwi. I was impressed at how the sugary coating stayed on each of the gummies, even after they were touched. This gave them a very sweet flavor. I let each gummy melt in my mouth, in order to savor the great citrus taste. Seriously, these are some delicious candies.

Effect 2/5
With such strong flavors and aroma, I was hoping these gummies would be equally as potent in terms of effect. Unfortunately, these gummies didn’t do too much for me. I ate four of these together in the evening, and waited to see what would happen. 

The package states that effects can be delayed for two hours, and that’s about how long it took for me to feel anything. I felt the tiniest hint of a body high, centered around my core, and just a slight mood elevation. To be honest, I didn’t feel too much from these, and was hoping for more.

My experience with these gummies wasn’t the best. I was so impressed with the packaging, the aroma, and the flavor that I had high hopes for the feeling I was hoping to get from taking the gummies. That said, I would probably recommend this product to a user who is new to cannabis, as the effects aren’t overwhelming. For a new user, this could possibly provide the right amount of relaxation and mood elevation to ease them into the effects of cannabis.

My visit to Sunnyside was surprisingly quick and easy, as there were no long lines. My budtender was helpful, and offered friendly service. Overall, I was moderately satisfied with these gummies. The presentation and taste were spot on, but in effect, they kind of fell flat. In spite of that, I would definitely purchase Mindy’s products again, solely to see if they could have a better effect.

Sunnyside is just a short walk from both the Elmwood Park and River Grove Metra stops. If you’re arriving by car, limited street parking is available, and the same goes for the lot next to the shop. However, this lot offers free valet parking. I stopped by the dispensary late in the afternoon, on a day where they had just restocked flower, so I expected the lines to be long. 

Luckily, there was no wait at all, and I was helped right away.

I really appreciate the products available at Sunnyside. Cresco items seem to dominate the menu, but there are also PTS, Verano, and Pharmacann products, as well. It seems like each of their locations have similar products, but some unique edibles and vapes can be found at each individual establishment.
