“Who wants a Bloody Mary Jane?!”
That was the first thing I heard that morning, as my eyes struggled to open themselves up.
“Blood Mary Jane, guys! Who wants one?!”
There it was again. I could tell it was my buddy, Drew, from the other room, but in my still very drunken state, it was hard discern much, as my mind and body were in a full-blown haze. In the wake of my festivities the night before, I was in dire need of some hangover medicine – and fast.

I had heard of a Bloody Mary before, but my collegiate mind at the time wasn’t aware of this somewhat spooky-sounding counterpart. Perhaps, it was my inebriated ear drums, still soaked in booze, that were playing tricks on me. Either way, I needed to see what the fuss was all about, especially if it could possibly rid me of this regretful hangover.
With all the courage and energy I could muster, I slowly rolled off that leather couch in the living room, maneuvered through various empty cans and party debris, and soon made my way into our equally chaotic-looking kitchen. Sure enough, there was my buddy, rounding up a series of ingredients that seemed to be for a common Bloody Mary.
But, after a quick “wake and bake” session to get my mind right, he quickly explained that this was an infused version of the typical Bloody Mary, in which he implements the curing powers of cannabis, along with the “hair of the dog” elements of a morning cocktail.

After a brief beverage building demonstration, I was sipping on my very first Bloody Mary Jane, and when I tell you that it eliminated my hangover damn near instantly, I mean it. It tasted great, and allowed me to return to reality, and continue on with my day, as opposed to heading back to bed, queasy and regretful.

I’ve since come to enjoy the comfort of a drink of this nature during those now rare mornings when a hangover decides to show up. However, I’ve made a few adjustments along the way, through some trial and error, and I believe this final version is as good as it gets.
Also, I ditched the original name of this curing cocktail, simply because it always felt gross to say. So, let’s go with a simpler approach, and just call these bad boys THC-Infused Bloody Marys. Boom. Straight to the point.

Speaking of, let’s get down to it, shall we? First, we’ll need to make sure you have all the proper ingredients on deck, before we launch into the details behind these THC-Infused Bloody Marys.
In order to make cannabis-infused vodka, it requires a bit of a lengthy process, but if you make sure to plan ahead, and have some of this ready and waiting, it’ll be there to cure your hangover when you need it most.

Instructions

Decarboxylate Cannabis Flower

  • So, to make cannabis-infused vodka, you’ll first want to decarboxylate 20-24 grams of cannabis flower. Then, finely break it down into a super fine powder. Place all of that broken down bud inside a piece of cheesecloth, and fashion it into a tea bag, and place it in room temperature water. Allow it to soak for 6-12 hours, in order to remove the water-soluble elements.
  • After that time has passed, drain out any excess water from the cannabis-filled tea bag, and empty the floral contents into an airtight container. At this point, before you put the lid on, you’ll want to pour in your desired amount of vodka.
  • In this instance, I’d say aim for 2-3 fluid ounces.
  • Once you’ve done that, put the lid on, and keep it in a super dark, very cool area for close to two weeks. Remember, the longer you allow it to sit, the more potent the end product will be. So, just hang tight, and don’t rush things. Trust me.
  • Then, when you’re ready to go, use another piece of cheesecloth, to filter out the floral elements of the mixture. And the end result will be some cannabis-infused vodka.
  • Obviously, you can do the math, and increase the size of your cannabis-infused vodka recipe appropriately, if you so, please. But, for this instance, I feel like a serving size ought to be enough.
  • Alright, once you’ve gotten that in order, the rest of the process is relatively simple.

THC-Infused Bloody Mary

  • First and foremost, let’s the prep that glass of yours. Preferably, a chilled glass works best, but if you forget to toss them in the freezer beforehand, room temperature glasses work just as well. But, that said, the addition of some ice cubes goes a long way.
  • To be fair, there will be ice used during the creation of these THC-Infused Bloody Marys anyway, so you’ll be happy either way.
  • To prep, your glass, run a lemon wedge along the edge of the rim, then dunk it onto a plate covered in salt and pepper. Twist and roll the rim in this seasoning, until there’s a solid layer covering every bit of sippable real estate.
  • When you’ve completed that step, grab your cocktail mixer, and toss in every ingredient listed above, cannabis-infused vodka included, along with a few ice cubes for good measure.
  • Then, simply shake that sucker up to the best of your ability, before cracking open that mixer, and pouring out some THC-Infused Bloody Marys into those previously-prepared glasses.
