The purchase I made during this trip was THC Pain Cream, made by Remedi, a subdivision of Cresco labs. It’s a topical cream in a 2.1oz (60g) bottle containing 100mg of THC and is meant to be used as a medical product for those undergoing aches, pains, and inflammation.
Appearance 5/5
The THC pain cream is inside of a small squeezable tube with a lid that you press down on one end to open, very similar to a face cream container. The smaller container was packed in a larger prescription tube, which had a push-and-turn childproof lid. There isn’t too much to say about the packaging – the look is pretty minimalist, but it does seem to very clearly indicate that this is a product intended for medical patients. The cream itself is of a similar white color and consistency, like most common moisturizing lotions.
Aroma 5/5
As soon as I smelled the THC pain cream, I realized this is a well-thought-out, quality product and not a run-of-the-mill lotion with a bit of added hemp oil. I actually couldn’t smell any cannabis scent on the product, just really nice pleasant notes of lavender and peppermint, which makes sense, as these are two of the oils listed on the ingredients list. If you’re worried about smelling like weed after applying this, don’t be – you’re going to smell great! I know that lavender is said to have a soothing effect, so I think it’s a great choice to be in this product.
Taste 5/5
Compared to other lotions I haven’t put in my mouth before, I’d say this tastes about the same.
Effect 5/5
I tested out THC Pain Cream on a couple of occasions: the first was on a night when I was experiencing inflammation in my hands, around my right index finger and thumb. I applied the cream to the bothersome spot and let it soak in. There was no immediate effect, but by the next morning, my swelling had reduced considerably. Overnight relief of my inflammation symptoms is not uncommon, however. The next time I used the cream was on my left ankle after work, which had become swollen due to my long walk to and from the office that day. I did feel some instant comfort this time with the cream, though my decision to walk all throughout a grocery store did not help the problem. Head-wise, the cream did not have an effect, which I assume is more good news for those who simply want to use this for pain relief. It definitely will not get you high, but the lavender scent may help you relax and unwind after a long day!
I think that THC Pain Cream is a solid product for those who experience occasional pain and aching. As for those like me with chronic pain and inflammation, I can’t say it was as effective as an over-the-counter pain relief pill.
I like many people, am always seeking alternatives to over-the-counter options for pain, and in that regard, I think this is a good alternative to try. I will continue to experiment with it in more cases. I should note, however, that natural oils aside, this isn’t really an organic product, as it contains plenty of ingredients I can’t pronounce, like Dimethicone and Diazolidinyl.
Finally, if you’re intrigued by THC Pain Cream for your own symptoms and are wary of smoking or ingesting other medical marijuana products, I would say this is a great option as it causes no high and smells great without a hint of cannabis. Obviously, this product is of very little value to strictly recreational users.
I hope that others seeking pain relief will get comfort with THC Pain Cream. Though I can’t make any claims of it being a miracle treatment for me, I did get some relief and definitely liked the scent. I am going to continue to experiment with THC Pain Cream to relieve other pains that come up, and will update this if I get more noticeable results!

I purchased these products at Nature’s Care — a medical marijuana dispensary located in Rolling Meadows, a northwest suburb of Chicago. Nature’s Care is a clean, bright facility with quick and professional service. There’s a great herbal smell as soon as you walk in the front door, and a comfortable waiting room (which I’ve never actually had to wait in) with lots of cannabis magazines and literature, plus fresh coffee.
Every time I walk into the bright, clean, and well-furnished lobby, I can’t help but smile. There’s usually great music playing over the speakers, be it a classic rock gem, reggae, or something more modern. As usual, the team behind the counter was quick to call me over to pick up my already placed order and were happy to answer any questions about the product.
Nature’s Care has two lines for customers — one for patients who have preorders filed, and one for those who do not yet know what they want. I always see staff in that line patiently explaining products to patients who may have never used cannabis before, or who just want to discuss what they are getting. It’s pretty heartwarming to see a 20-something who I assume is an experienced smoker, informing an elderly woman on the benefits of a given strain. Though I almost always have a preorder in, I’ve asked questions to the staff many times, and they’re always happy to help and offer friendly service in general.
