Most desserts claim to be the epitome of sophistication, class, and decadence. And, sure, some of them may come close, but there’s really only one type of dessert that ranks in the upper echelon of treats, as far as I’m concerned. And that, my friends, is anything related to “Red Velvet.” Which is why I’m here to share a recipe for Red Velvet Cannabis Cupcakes.

Instructions
- Kick things off by preheating your oven to 350°.
- As that reliable appliance works its way up to that temperature, you’ll want to get started on your cupcakes.
- To do that, grab ahold of a mixing bowl. In it, combine your salt, baking soda, cocoa powder, and flour. When you’ve done that, set that bowl to the side for the time being.
- Next, you’ll need to grab another mixing bowl, as well as an electric mixer. In this bowl, you’ll need to beat together your sugar and cannabis-infused butter. Work those ingredients together at a “Medium” speed for about 5 minutes. In that time, the contents should’ve become light and airy.
- Following that, you’ll need to beat your eggs into the mix, but be sure to do so one at a time.
- Then, toss in your vanilla extract, food coloring, milk, and sour cream. Mix all of those elements together as much as possible.
- Upon completing that step, you’ll want to slowly work in your flour mixture from before, but only at a “Low” speed setting. Only do this until they are barely blended together – no need to overwork things here.
Fill muffin cups
- Next, you’ll transfer spoonfuls of batter into roughly 30 previously-lined muffin cups. Aim to fill each cup ⅔ of the way with batter.
- When your oven is ready, toss these cupcakes in to bake for about 20 minutes.
- Then, when they pass that traditional “toothpick test of done-ness” you can take them out of the oven, and place them on a wire rack to cool down for about 5 minutes or so.
- At which point, you can remove them from their muffin pan, and allow them to mellow all the way back down to room temperature. When they hit that desired coolness, you can then apply your frosting.
Frosting Instructions
- To make your frosting, you’ll need to grab a mixing bowl, and in it, beat together your cannabis-infused butter, vanilla extract, sour cream, and cream cheese.
- Keep that going until the contents become fluffy. At that point you can slowly beat in your confectioners’ sugar. And, voila, you made frosting!
- When that’s done, and all of your cupcakes have been adequately frosted, you can pick out your favorite one, and see what you’ve been missing for all these years. Seriously, they’re that damn good.
