Equipment

  • Baking dish (8x8 inches or similar)
  • Mixing bowls
  • Whisk
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Spatula
  • Aluminum foil

Ingredients

  • 6 cups day-old bread, cubed (preferably brioche or challah)
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup cannabis-infused butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup raisins (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease an 8x8 inch baking dish with some of the melted cannabis-infused butter.
  • Place the cubed bread into the greased baking dish. If using raisins, sprinkle them evenly over the bread.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the milk, heavy cream, remaining cannabis-infused butter, granulated sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until well combined.
  • Pour the custard mixture over the bread cubes, ensuring all pieces are soaked. Press down lightly with a spatula to help the bread absorb the custard.
  • Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 15 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the custard is set.
  • Allow the bread pudding to cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with a drizzle of caramel sauce or a scoop of ice cream if desired.

Notes

  • Decarboxylation: Make sure your cannabis is decarboxylated before infusing it into the butter to activate the THC.
  • Dosage: Adjust the amount of cannabis-infused butter according to your desired potency and tolerance.
  • Storage: Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat before serving.
