The second I learned that “torte” is just fancy-talk for “amazing cake” I’ve been a fan ever since. Many may think that this is some sort of foreign delicacy, but it’s quite similar to the standard cake, only chock full of sophistication and luxurious flavors. And in this particular torte recipe, there’s quite a lot of THC to be enjoyed, as well. So, if you’re looking to partake in a top-notch dessert, and get nice and stoned in the process, this French Chocolate Cannabis Torte is the way to go.

Now, for this French Chocolate Cannabis Torte, you’ll need to have the following ingredients on hand before you can even think about getting started.
You’re going to need:

Instructions

  • To get started, preheat your oven to 325°.
  • And, as that reaches our desired temperature, take this time to grease up a specific cake tin, called a “springform cake tin.” Aim to use one that’s roughly 9” in dimension.
  • After that greasing step, dust the cake tin with a little bit of sugar, but be mindful to tap out any excess before proceeding onward.
  • Next, you’ll want to ready 3 tablespoons of sugar for later use, so just put them aside for the time being.
  • Following that, place your cannabis-infused butter, chocolate, and whatever sugar you have remaining into a large pan.
  • Cook these contents up together over a “Medium” heat, and keep it cooking until the butter and chocolate have completely melted and the sugar has fully dissolved.
  • At that point, remove the pan from the heat, as you stir in your vanilla extract. Then, simply let the mixture cool down a touch.
  • Now, beat the egg yolks into that chocolate mixture, but be mindful to only do so one at time. And, before you add in the other, be sure that you’ve beaten it in as best you can.
  • After that, stir in your flour.
  • Upon completing that step, grab a large mixing bowl. In it, beat the egg whites as expertly as you can. You’ll know they are ready once they turn airy and foam-like.
  • Then, add in your salt, along with your cream of tartar. Keep beating those elements together as best you can. You’ll know you can move on with this recipe once the contents start to develop peaks.
  • Now, you’ll want to take that reserved sugar from earlier, and sprinkle it over those freshly-beaten egg whites, and keep beating those suckers until they turn shiny, glossy, and a bit rigid.
  • Grab a spatula (or whisk) and fold in roughly a third of those egg whites into that chocolate mixture of yours. After that, gradually fold in the rest.
  • Next, you’ll take that batter, and slowly pour it into that previously-prepared tin, being sure to release any unforeseen air bubbles with a couple taps on the side of the tin.
  • Toss that batter into your oven (if it’s ready) for anywhere between 45-60 minutes. At the halfway point, check on your cake to see if it is rising evenly. If not, you can rotate it for the last half of the bake.
  • But once it passes that faithful “toothpick test of done-ness” you can remove it from the oven, and place the cake on a wire rack to cool down.
  • Do not, I repeat, do not remove the cake from the tin until it has fully cooled back down, as it will likely fall apart in the process if you rush it. So, practice some patience, but when it’s ready, pop it out, slice it up, and enjoy one of the better tasting edibles you can make in the comfort of your own kitchen.
