On this trip, I purchased a Windy City Bar by Incredibles. The bar is a mix of milk and dark chocolate, with pieces of toffee for a nice crunch. The bar is split into 10 pieces, each containing 10mg of THC, for a total of 100mg THC. The strain is unspecified.

Appearance 4/5
I thought the Windy City Bar’s packaging looked nice. It’s housed in a modern-looking sleeve with ingredients, nutrition facts, and cannabinoid content on the back. After opening the sleeve, I found the chocolate bar in a plastic mold, with a plastic wrapper bearing the Incredibles logo printed over the top.

The bar itself is segmented into individual pieces each bearing a “10mg” imprint. I was surprised by how large each segment was. Overall, the product was attractive, but nothing too stunning.

Aroma 5/5
Upon opening the seal, I took a whiff of the bar and smiled. It’s got a nice, rich chocolate aroma, that instantly made me excited to try it. There was a tinge of cannabis smell in there, too, but it blended in really nicely with the chocolate.

Taste 4/5
Toffee and chocolate have long been a favorite pairing of mine, as long as I brace my teeth for impact before chomping down. I was looking forward to a satisfyingly crunchy edible with this Incredibles bar, but I’m sad to say, I was slightly disappointed. While there is toffee in the bar, there isn’t that much of it, so you don’t get a big chunk breaking off; it’s more like a few nice crispy pieces here and there.

Flavor-wise, however, the bar was excellent. The chocolate really seemed to be quality, and it’s a nice mix of milk and dark chocolate, which gives it a unique taste. The added herbal notes also blended in smoothly. So, all in all, it’s a nice bite. I just wish Incredibles upped the toffee content to meet my expectations.

Effect 5/5
For me, taste always takes a backseat to effect, and in this regard, the Windy City Bar was a home run. After about an hour of eating a 10mg piece, I began to feel the effects.

I noticed a pleasant calm kick in that evolved into a blissful high. I felt some enhanced body awareness, too, though not as strong as I’ve gotten from Indica dominant strains. The effects lasted at their peak for about 3 hours.

Another time, I took a 20mg dose, which brought on strong euphoria and a ton of carefree laughing. It was the kind of high I love to get when just hanging out at home with my wife.

Product price: $30

I definitely recommend the Incredibles Windy City Bar to anyone looking for a quality edible. The only prerequisites are that you like chocolate and don’t mind a little bit of toffee. The taste is excellent, the dosing is accurate, if not totally precise, and the highs I got were some of the most pleasant I’ve ever experienced.

Were it not for the slight disappointment of toffee content, the Windy City bar would earn perfect ratings across the board from me. I’ve always been happy with the Incredibles products I’ve tried, from gummies to chocolates, to chewable tablets.

Check out the Windy City Bar at a dispensary near you, and if you’re in Colorado, this toffee bar is named the Boulder Bar over there, so keep your eyes peeled for it.

Nature’s Care was designated to be an essential business within the state of Illinois, so they have remained open to provide products to both their medical and recreational base. I am writing this during the coronavirus pandemic, which has greatly affected businesses around the country, but I am happy to say, Nature’s Care has gone to great lengths to ensure customer safety.

The staff at this dispensary remains tireless in keeping their facilities clean and safe. Their on-site security team was on hand to make sure customers keep a safe social distance from one another, while in-store, and outside in line. Customers were also responsible enough to take that responsibility upon themselves. It just seemed as though everyone at the business was taking the virus seriously.

I’m also happy to report that as a medical patient, my wait time was not much longer than usual, perhaps 10 minutes longer, at most. The staff was friendly and helpful as usual, too. Security only let one customer in at a time, so the sales floor did not have many customers inside, making it easy to maintain social distancing. Checkout was smooth and easy, as well.

If you’re looking for a dispensary that takes the necessary precautions for COVID-19, then look no further. I can’t comment on what other dispensaries are doing right now for their customers, but I can vouch for Nature’s Care. They have also started offering curbside pickup exclusively for medical patients. This should only serve to increase the safety of their patients, while also hopefully reducing the line for recreational customers.
