During this trip, I purchased Kiva Confections Terra Bites chocolate covered blueberries. These milk chocolate-covered fruits come in a 20-pack, and each piece contains 5mg of THC. No specific strain is mentioned on the container, but the Kiva website describes it as a hybrid.
Appearance 5/5
The Terra Bites come in a circular tin. The tin seems to be made of pretty thick metal — at least thicker than your standard Altoids tin, that’s for sure. It’s an attractive container, done up in black, with tall white text indicating the brand, THC content, and other info, while “Blueberries” and the cannabis leaf up top are printed in blue.
The tin is childproofed in that you must press down and turn it to open. Inside are the 20 blueberry pieces. Each one is pretty uniformly shaped and sized — similar to a Raisinet. All in all, the look of the container, and product itself, make for an excellent first impression.
Aroma 4/5
If you like the smell of chocolate (and honestly, who doesn’t?), you’ll have no problem with these blueberry Terra Bites. They’re fragrant, with milk chocolate aroma, and you can also smell a bit of blueberry underneath, which makes for a really appealing scent. I couldn’t really pick up any sort of herbal smell just from sniffing the bites, and you can’t smell anything when it’s sealed.
Taste 5/5
I should offer a disclaimer here that I love chocolate and really enjoy blueberries, so it would be hard for these bites to disappoint me. I’m happy to report that these Terra Bites exceeded my expectations. The chocolate coating is rich, and has a melt-in-your-mouth quality. You can tell this is at least a respectable grade chocolate, and that Kiva took the time to source (and produce) a great-tasting edible.
The blueberry is also a pleasant flavor. I believe the blueberries are dried, because eating these reminds me of eating chocolate covered raisins. The flavor profile of the blueberries is kind of an unusual partner for chocolate, but I found that the two blended really nicely. The third note of cannabis came in after a couple of chews, and added a nice depth to the whole experience.
Effect 4/5
Being that these bites come in a standard 5mg dose, I decided to try a single piece for my first experience. I ate the blueberry and waited. After 45 minutes I started to feel a nice glow. It wasn’t an intense high, rather it was more of a calming CBD-like effect. After an hour and a half, the feeling peaked, and evolved into a pleasant, mild high. It’s the kind that would loosen someone up socially, but let them carry on a conversation, without any dizzying sedation. That being said, I was happy to note that the effects were noticeable, and not lost on me.
For my second time, I tried two pieces for a 10mg dose. This, as you might have expected, produced a stronger high. It brought on feelings of euphoria, along with heightened body awareness. Like before, the high peaked around an hour and a half in, and lasted for about four hours, before a gradual decline set in.
Product price: $30
These Terra Bites are an excellent choice for those new to edibles. They taste great, are well made, and easy to dose. If it’s your first time ever, I’d definitely recommend taking a single piece to start. More advanced users might want to go with two or more pieces, however. And, I’d recommend at least two for heavy medical users.
I was already familiar with Kiva Confections from their chocolate espresso beans, which come in a similar tin, and are also dosed at 5mg a piece. I’d highly recommend checking out their line of products, as they’ve always produced good highs and consistently taste great.
Looking for an easy-to-dose, great-tasting edible that is great for sharing? Look no further! Kiva Confections chocolate covered blueberry Terra Bites are the real deal, and score high marks from me all around in taste, appearance, and effect. Just don’t get carried away and eat too many at once!

I’ve been a customer at Nature’s Care in Rolling Meadows for nearly a year now, and I’m a big fan of their excellent customer service and calming sales environment. This was my first visit there since they had opened their doors to recreational users, and I was a bit worried, having seen lines outside the door on multiple occasions since recreational users were allowed in.
Thankfully, Nature’s Care has prioritized medical users in more ways than one.
Parking on premises was restricted to medical patients only, a thoughtful touch for those with mobility issues. Medical users are able to walk right in to Nature’s Care, regardless of lines, which is also appreciated. I made use of this, along with pre-ordering, and found that my trip was not much longer than the old days.
There was a bit of a wait once inside the sales floor, but thanks to the way the staff has organized the lines, I only had to wait behind other medical patients, and there was a dedicated clerk to take our orders.
Checkout was smooth as always, too. Nature’s Care recently shifted to the Jane sales platform, and I’ve found it to be a pretty seamless transition. It’s actually a more user-friendly interface than their previous one, in my opinion. As usual, the staff is super attentive and helpful. Once I was done, they placed my goods in a discreet white paper bag, and I was off and on my way.
