Lush Black Cherry Gummies

Mindy’s Lush Black Cherry 5mg 1:1 Gummies are cherry-flavored gummies that contain 5mg of THC each. They also contain CBD at a 1:1 ratio. They are packaged in a tin of 20, for a total of 100mg of THC and 100mg CBD.

Chicago-based chef, Mindy Segal, works with Cresco Labs to produce her line of artisanal edibles. Mindy’s line includes six different flavors of gummies in 2mg and 5mg THC doses.

Appearance 5/5
These gummies come in a white tin with Mindy’s elegant logo on the front. The gummies are round on the bottom and top, and the base is about ½” in diameter, and the top is slightly more narrow than that by ⅛”. The color is a bright red with a hint of violet. Although the gummies are pretty opaque, light shines through them at the thinnest points. They are covered in sugar crystals.

Aroma 5/5
Even though the aroma of these gummies is quite faint, they distinctly smell like cherry. They smell like cherry-flavored candy, only these gummies don’t over-do it like many other cherry products. The aroma is familiar, but also natural and delicate, with a slight tartness. The granulated sugar coating the gummies makes them smell especially sweet.

The open package does have a slight aroma, but mostly that of sugar. The open tin of these gummies does not smell like cannabis, just like candy.

Taste 5/5
Mindy’s Lush Black Cherry gummies taste delightful. They are tart and sweet, but not too sweet. Most of the sweetness comes from the sugar coating on the outside. Like all of Mindy’s gummies, they are naturally flavored, and the cherry flavor is pure and delicious.

Unlike Mindy’s 2mg gummies, these do taste distinctly like cannabis. This makes sense because they are only slightly smaller and contain more than twice the THC and CBD. I don’t think this detracted from my enjoyment of the gummies, but they aren’t the type of edible that made me forget I was eating edibles.

Effect 5/5
Within minutes of eating one, I felt mentally calm and physically relaxed. It was shocking how quickly I felt the effects of these gummies.

After 15 minutes, I felt a strong sense of tranquility.

As someone who regularly consumes cannabis, eating just one of these gummies didn’t make me feel high, but it did make me feel relaxed and pleased. I felt like I could function at a normal level except for a light absent mindedness. After eating two, I felt high. I was giggly and happy. After three, I felt joyful and excited, but disoriented and tired.

I recommend Mindy’s Lush Black Cherry gummies to anyone looking for great candy edibles. They are vegetarian, non-GMO, naturally colored (and flavored), and delicious. Even people who like cherries, but have come to dislike cherry-flavored candy, should give these a try because their taste is so natural and delicate.

I’ve tried three of the six flavors of Mindy’s gummies, and, while all of them are great products, the Lush Black Cherry is my favorite flavor, and my favorite of Mindy’s products, as a whole. The flavor was really impressive. I prefer Mindy’s gummies in the 5mg THC dose, and I liked the addition of the 5mg CBD. This flavor is the only of Mindy’s 5mg gummies that includes the CBD.

This was my fourth time using Sunnyside’s online ordering system, and this time, everything went smoothly. Like usual, I placed my order at noon, receiving my confirmation text right at 12:00. 

At 12:16, they texted me to tell me that my order was ready. On my previous visits, I had received the confirmation texts closer to a half hour after placing my order. 

Even though they recommend you don’t come to the dispensary until they send the text that your order is ready, I considered starting my walk over there right after I was notified that my order was successfully placed. I didn’t do that, but if I had, I would have only been halfway there by the time I got the text. I think I will try that next time, because by the time I arrived, I got in line almost at the end of the block. 

There were 10 people in front of me, but the line moved quickly. Within five minutes, I was fourth in line, and eight minutes after that, I was standing at the counter while the budtender packed up my order. There was no chit-chat going on by anyone in the whole establishment. By this time in the pandemic, everyone was just focused on doing their job, getting what they need, and getting out. 

I didn’t try to change anything in my order this time, and the budtender didn’t talk to me at all, other than to ask for my ID, and tell me to insert my card. Between the time I arrived at the dispensary, and the time I left, my visit only took about 20 minutes.
