Wedding Cake is a child of the popular strains, Girl Scout Cookies and Cherry Pie. It is a 60/40 indica dominant hybrid, with high THC levels up to 32%.

This eighth was grown by the producer Verano, which means “Spring” in Italian. The company focuses on cultivating cannabis that improves people’s lives and creates “a brighter way forward”.

Appearance 5/5
The nugs are firm, dense, and relatively small. My eighth came with three nugs that were about the diameter of a quarter, along with six smaller nugs. Their shape is delightfully wonky. Some appear to be dark green beneath a blanket of trichomes, while others are a muted kelly green. The tips of some of the buds are deep purple, too. It’s hard to see how much the color varies because the trichomes cover most of the flower.

Aroma 4/5
Contrary to the name, Wedding Cake has a very green aroma. The scent is tangy and fresh. It smells like a forest, with a stream running through it. There are some sweet floral notes and hints of fruit, as well.

The aroma is extremely mild. When I put the jar up to my nose, the aroma is so pungent that it verges on perfumey, but from a foot away, I couldn’t smell the cannabis in the open jar at all.

Taste 3/5
Wedding Cake doesn’t have a sweet flavor, either. It tastes dank and earthy, almost like dirt or coal. There are notes of bitterness like raw kale, or a less-than-fragrant flower. The flavor is intense and rich, like black coffee. Matching the rich flavor, the smoke is smooth and thick. With Wedding Cake, the flavor is stronger on the exhale than on the inhale. The taste was slightly too strong for my preference, but I still enjoyed smoking it.

Effect 3/5
Although it is a very potent hybrid strain, I felt the effects of Wedding Cake in two main ways: soothing and sedating.

On the negative side, It makes me feel slightly dissociated and disengaged. I’ve enjoyed consuming it during this lockdown, when I have infinite time to do nothing but relax, but I don’t think the effects of this strain would be as great, if I had to go to work in the mornings. It is the type of strain that makes me feel nothing and forget about the world.

Product Price: $74.84 for 3.5g

I recommend Wedding Cake for indica fans; even though it is a hybrid, the effects are extremely sedating. It is best for evening use, whether that is to unwind, or to treat insomnia. I would also recommend this strain to treat stress, as well.

This strain is good for anyone who is getting driven crazy by the Coronavirus lockdown. It is a good way to stay calm and kill a day that you legally have to spend at home.

This is definitely a high quality product. The flower is dense, firm, and quite pretty. It came in a nice glass jar that I plan on reusing. All of the flower I’ve seen from Verano are of incredible quality. The effects of the Wedding Cake strain weren’t my favorite, but for a sedating indica, I was happy with how it made me feel.

Sunnyside Dispensary launched their online ordering platform this week to aid in social distancing measures. The interface is clean and well designed, and the online menu is kept up to date. It is organized by Flower, Pre-rolls, Vape, Concentrates, Edibles, and Accessories.

To use this system, users must make an account, and register as either, a medical or adult use. Medical patients can place an order at any time, or stop by the store. Recreational customers must order online, and can only order during a window that opens at 10 am, Wednesday through Sunday, which is usually open for just a couple minutes.

I opened the website at 10 on the dot, and added four items to my cart. By the time I was ready to check out at 10:03, the window had already closed. The next morning, I sat at my computer waiting for the clock to strike 10, with my cursor hovering over the order button, waiting for it to become active. Rather than saying that my order went through, an error popped up on the screen. Then, the window was closed.

I was prepared to go through this whole ordeal the following day when, much to my surprise, I received a text around noon saying that my order was ready to be picked up. I arrived at Sunnyside an hour after the text, and there was a line of about 20 people standing six feet apart down Clark Street.

Sunnyside was admitting three customers into the waiting room, and three in the dispensary at a time. Medical patients formed a seperate line on the other side of the door, and customers from the recreational line were only admitted when there was no one left in the medical line.

Even though there is an online ordering platform, customers should not expect to swing by and pick up their order. The orders are not pre-packed, and customers can change them once inside. I ended up waiting for more than three hours. Nevertheless, I needed some bud to get through these next two weeks.

Loving it

Very great strain to simply relax and forget everything. Not too much couch lock either, which is hard to find with a relaxing strain. Usually relaxed equals bed, but not in this case. Probably one of my favorites. Tried this because my budsman said if I liked lava cake I’d love wedding cake. $48 for 2.83 g..little pricey but worth it quality wise.
