On this trip, I picked up Betty’s Eddies Fruit Chews. These are a lot like chewy taffy and come in a 5-pack. Each piece is a different flavor, but each contains 20mg of THC for a total of 100mg per package.
Appearance 5/5
The fruit chews come in a brown pouch bearing the Betty’s Eddies logo. Each piece comes individually wrapped, and the wrappers correspond to the flavor. With five different flavors in the pack, they offer a nice variety. The chews definitely look handmade, and they have a speckled appearance, which makes sense, given Betty’s emphasis on natural ingredients. Bonus points to Betty for coming up with clever names for each flavor — Orange You Beautiful and Lime a Good Person are favorites.
Aroma 5/5
The fruity scents here are definitely strong, and you can smell each unique flavor as soon as you start unwrapping them. I was hit with a fresh, zesty lemon scent from the My Little Lemon Heaven piece, and the Berry Good Things chew had a nice and sweet berry smell.
Taste 5/5
These chews are absolutely packed with flavor. They’re sweet, of course, but also really taste like the actual fruits they are going for in each flavor. That’s really no surprise considering Betty’s is using ingredients like dried strawberries and blueberries and lemon and orange oils to make these. They’re also incredibly chewy — so much so that they may even stick to your teeth. The cannabis flavors did come through after chewing these a couple of times, but I found that everything blended nicely. All in all, these are great tasting edible.
Effect 4/5
My first experience with Betty’s Eddies was a full 20mg piece. I didn’t feel anything until about an hour in. That’s when the high kicked in and quickly ramped up. Thankfully, the high never got out of hand — what I experienced was a big dose of euphoria and heightened creativity. This lasted about an hour and a half, then the high decreased a bit to a point of mellow calm and peace. During my second use, I took a half dose, and experienced largely the same effect, just with slightly less of a peak and more of a mellow feeling. This was more of the high I’m used to, though I enjoyed it both as a half and full dose.
Product price: $30
Whichever way you go, expect a pleasant, calm high, and some creative stimulation. I definitely found this to be the case. Betty’s Eddies Fruit Chews are also great for those who value taste. The flavors here are all on-point! If you’ve got dietary restrictions, look no further — these fruit chews are vegan gluten-free, dairy-free, and contain just 5mg of sugar per piece. Even if you’re not super health-conscious, it’s nice to know there aren’t any strange, synthetic ingredients here.

I purchased this product at Nature’s Care — a medical marijuana dispensary located in Rolling Meadows, a northwest suburb of Chicago. Nature’s Care is a clean, bright facility with quick and professional service. There’s a great herbal smell as soon as you walk in the front door, and a comfortable waiting room (which I’ve never actually had to wait in) with lots of cannabis magazines and literature, plus fresh coffee.
Every time I walk into the bright, clean, and well-furnished lobby, I can’t help but smile. There’s usually great music playing over the speakers, be it a classic rock gem, reggae, or something more modern. As usual, the team behind the counter was quick to call me over to pick up my already placed order and were happy to answer any questions about the product.
Nature’s Care has two lines for customers — one for patients who have preorders filed, and one for those who do not yet know what they want. I always see staff in that line patiently explaining products to patients who may have never used cannabis before, or who just want to discuss what they are getting. It’s pretty heartwarming to see a 20-something who I assume is an experienced smoker, informing an elderly woman on the benefits of a given strain. Though I almost always have a preorder in, I’ve asked questions to the staff many times, and they’re always happy to help and offer friendly service in general.
