G-Purps, or Granddaddy Purple, is an indica strain bred from Purple Urkle and Big Bud. It is commonly used to treat pain, stress, and appetite loss.

Swift Lifts are packs of five ½ gram pre-rolled joints by Verano. They contain Verano’s high quality flower in a convenient package. Their motto is “small in size, big in relief”.

Appearance 3/5
Each pre-rolled joint is about 2 ½” long, including the cardboard filter which is about 1” tall. They are rolled in brown paper, which is fairly opaque for wrapping paper. The tip of the joint is also uneven, which makes the joints burn unevenly without extreme care.

There were flecks of cannabis at the base of the filter, almost like they had stuffed the area around the “Z” in the filter with shake. This was present in all five joints, and it got in my mouth when I was smoking these joints. I unrolled the filter to see where this came from, and there weren’t flecks inside the filter, so this must have come from the outside. This was unpleasant and reduced my rating by one point.

They come in a small tin–the same tin as Verano’s mints — which is good for carrying the product, but I’m not convinced it’s airtight enough to store pre-rolls long term.

Aroma 5/5
The most prominent scents in the G-purps aroma are blueberry and blackberry. The aroma is strongly fruity, and it also contains lighter notes of oranges and raspberries. The tart and tanginess, rather than the sweetness, of the fruit is emphasized. The scent of this strain isn’t just fruity, however. Herbal notes of basil, cinnamon, and black pepper enhance the aroma. The aroma is overall very pleasant, and I can only imagine how nice the whole flower smells, as opposed to the slightly dried pre-roll.

Taste 4/5
At first, the taste of these pre-rolled joints is toasty, starchy, and a little bit dry. There were notes that reminded me of crackers and dried lavender. About halfway through the joint, the slight berry undertones really came out. It tasted like blackberries, blueberries, and cream. The flavor was rich and pleasant. Although the taste was fruity, the flavor of the smoke wasn’t sweet at all, and the taste was not as tart as the aroma.

Effect 5/5
As I’ve said, the cannabis was a little dry. Other than that, it was the same high quality Verano flower that they sell in eighths.

This strain made me feel calm and motivated. It didn’t make me feel drowsy or sluggish like many indicas. Although at 21.9% THC, this isn’t the most potent cannabis on the market, what the G-Purp Swift Lifts lacked in potency, they made up for in quantity.

I do not need to smoke ½ gram joints to get high, but since it was easy and convenient, I often smoked the whole joint, even though I could have easily stubbed it out, or unrolled some into a separate joint. This product definitely encouraged me to smoke more.

The tip of each of these joints was uneven, which causes them to burn unevenly. I recommend that people untwist the tip of the joint, and tamp down the product to help their joint burn more evenly.

G-Purps is a nice, relaxing evening strain, but I think it is lively enough to use all day. It is commonly used to treat insomnia and appetite loss.

The problem with Swift Lifts is that I would never roll a ½ gram joint for myself, but I would happily smoke one–or five–if they are in front of me. Although I liked this product, I smoked 2.5g in half the time it would normally take me because this product is so convenient. But I probably would have enjoyed the strain more if I had just purchased Verano’s G-Purps flower.

My last trip to Sunnyside Dispensary in Lakeview went surprisingly well. Everything with the online ordering platform went smoothly. I was able to add all of the items to my cart after 11:20 — 40 minutes before I could place my order. I was all ready at noon, and my order was placed successfully.

When I got to the dispensary, there was a line of about 10 people. Everyone was standing six feet apart, which was marked by traffic cones. I was waiting outside for less than 10 minutes. I spent another five minutes in the waiting room, and five minutes in line at the dispensary. I was out of Sunnyside 25 minutes after I arrived with my online order.

Overall, it seemed like the Sunnyside employees were doing a great job at wearing masks and gloves, and wiping everything down. I did notice that the gentleman who helped me was the only employee in the whole establishment who wasn’t wearing a mask, from the security guards to the manager. About three in four customers were wearing masks, and customers were kept apart by spots labeled on the floor six feet apart.

Unlike my other trips to Sunnyside since they started social distancing, my order was already packed in a bag when I got to the checkout counter. The budtender went through each item on my online order, and placed them into a plastic tray, then back in the bag before stapling the bag, and taking my payment.

In the waiting room, they had a sign advertising their extended hours of 9 am to 10 pm for recreational customers, and 9 am to 8 pm for medical patients. Since they have not posted anything about this on their site or social media, I think these extended hours are just set to give recreational customers more flexibility in picking up evening orders.
