On this trip, I picked up a pack of Savory Pretzel Nugs. These are produced by Nature’s Grace and Wellness. These bite-sized pretzels are heavily seasoned and come in a pack of about 15. The entire pack contains 50mg of THC from an unspecified strain.

Appearance  4/5
The packaging of the product looks pretty good. The Nugs are packed in the same pouch I’ve seen other Nature’s Grace and Wellness products packed inside. It has a safety open feature that requires you to pinch both sides in order for it to open. The packaging is pretty plain but has a fun logo, which made me excited to try these out.

The Nugs themselves really look great! They’re bite-sized pieces that arrived mostly intact, minus a few broken pieces. I didn’t mind that much, pretzels always get broken, and dosing was going to be tricky as it is. They appeared well-salted and seasoned, too.

Aroma  5/5
The Savory Pretzel Nugs definitely lived up to their name when I opened the package. Immediately, I caught a strong whiff of garlic, as well as other seasonings I’m not confident in naming. There wasn’t too much of a cannabis scent, but in any case, the smell got me hyped to chow down.

Taste 5/5
These Nugs marked my first experience ever with savory edibles. Up until now, I’ve only reviewed and tried sweet ones, so I was pretty excited to see how these would be.

I’m happy to report that these Nugs taste fantastic!

They’ve got nice flakes of salt on them, which brings out the other seasonings that are sprinkled liberally over each piece. I tasted a strong garlic flavor, as well as other herbs — possibly oregano and parsley, though I’m not totally sure.

There was a bit of a weed taste, but it wasn’t too strong. I was also really happy with how crunchy these pretzels were. They are easily just as tasty, and in my opinion, even tastier than most pretzel snacks you’d find at the store.

You just have to be careful not to eat too many of these!

Effect  5/5
For my first dose, I took four pieces, along with a pinch (or two) of seasoning that was loose in the bag. I wish I could note how many mg of THC this particular “dose” yielded, but there’s really no way to be sure. I’m going to guess it was about 13mg, as this was about a quarter of the bag.

I ate the pretzel pieces and felt uncertain about what lay in store for me. However, within about a half-hour, I started to feel it.

The high kicked off with a mild, tingly feeling all over. I was starting to feel really comfortable on the sofa. The high continued to build over time, up until it peaked after about two hours. By that point, I was in a fully relaxed, chill state, and some creative ideas were coming into my head, but not at an overwhelming pace.

I’m guessing they’re using some type of hybrid strain in this because the high was a good match of physical relaxation and mental stimulation.

Product price: $15

These Pretzel Nugs by Nature’s Grace and Wellness are definitely best suited to more experienced users, or for those who aren’t worried about precisely measuring out a dose. Having these out as a snack for a party could be a great time, just don’t go for these if you’ve never tried edibles before.

All in all, the Pretzel Nugs were a really nice treat. I liked trying a savory edible for a change, and I can see why infused dinner menus are becoming so popular. The flavor and crunch were on-point, and I would grab a non-infused version of these as a “go-to” snack. The high they brought on was long-lasting and super tasty.

So pick up these nugs, if you’re looking for something different!

At the time of writing this review, we’re deep into the coronavirus pandemic-induced quarantine period. Thankfully, for us reviewers, medical cannabis dispensaries in the area, like Nature’s Care, have remained open for business, allowing us to continue to purchase the products we need during this difficult time.

Nature’s Care in Rolling Meadows has gone to great lengths to ensure customer safety during the outbreak, and this visit was my first after they enacted curbside pickup. The curbside pickup program is accessible to medical users only and really helps to limit contact with others.

I pulled up, as usual, to the building, where a security officer approached my car and asked if I was here as a medical or recreational customer. I told him I was medical and requested curbside pickup. He instructed me to park in a spot in back.

Thankfully, the back parking lot still had plenty of space available — I must have picked a good time to go. The officer met me out back, and took my medical card, brought it inside, then emerged a minute later. He handed it back to me and said someone would be out shortly to take payment.

The salesperson came out with a card reader. I swiped my card and signed, and he came back out with my products. The whole process took about 5 minutes, I felt totally safe and still received great service. I’d definitely recommend using curbside pickup at Nature’s Care if you are really trying to do this quarantine right!
